  • CRES (Certificate of Registration as Exporter of Spices) is issued by the Spice Board of India and is specifically for spice exporters.

  • On the other hand, the Import Export Code (IEC), issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), is needed for exporting any product, including spices, from India.

So, if you’re planning to export spices, you’ll need both – your IEC and your CRES from the Spice Board.
